Magic rope Christmas trees
Are you one of those people who love to make at least one Christmas ornament or decoration during the Advent season every year? Christmas decoration are an essential part of the festive atmosphere. If you create them yourself, they will surely add a special touch to this festive season (in addition to baking Christmas cookies, of course).
We have prepared a Christmas decoration idea using the TKK FIX 51 hot glue. You can challenge your friends or spend a pleasant afternoon with your children while creating wonderful decorations.
With a little bit of effort and the right materials, you can create a unique string Christmas tree that will liven up your festive home. TKK FIX 52 glue sticks and TKK FIX 51 hot glue gun will make sure that your quickly and reliably made festive ornaments will also brighten up your home for years to come.
Materials:
- Thick rope (jute, cotton or other decorative rope)
- Cardboard
- Scissors or an X-Acto knife
- TKK FIX 51 hot melt glue gun
- TKK FIX 52 hot melt glue sticks
- Wooden stick for the tree trunk
- Decorations: glitter, ribbons, beads, small star for the top
Process:
Prepare the base:
- Cut a Christmas tree-shaped triangle from cardboard. The size is entirely up to you; we propose 15-20 cm height.
Shaping the Christmas tree:
- Take your rope and glue it to the base by glueing the first row of rope horizontally to the bottom of the Christmas tree. Since the hot glue will stick the rope to the base in mere seconds, you will be able to quickly continue your work. Make sure that the first row of rope is firmly stuck to the base so that you will be able to continue winding the rope evenly around the base.
- Start winding the rope around the base towards the narrow part of the tree.
- Use TKK FIX 51 to apply small quantities of glue to the edge of the base, and wind the rope around the base as you go along. Make sure that your turns are evenly spaced.
- Continue winding the rope all the way to the top and attach the end of the rope with a dab of hot glue.
Shaping the Christmas tree stand:
- Use the cardboard to fashion a cube which will be used as a stand.
- Wind the rope around the stand like you previously did with the Christmas tree.
Decoration:
- Decorate your tree to your heart’s desire! Beads, glitter, small lights or ribbons are wonderful additions.
- If you are looking to add heavier decorations, use TKK FIX 52 for a firm attachment and long-term stability.
- Attach a star or another ornament to the top for a truly festive finish.
Additional tips:
- If you wish to achieve an even more festive look, paint your rope gold or silver before use.
- Instead of glitter, you can use artificial snow to add a touch of winter.
- Add small loops or ribbons for a personalised look.
Create your own festive corner!
You can use your rope Christmas tree to decorate your table, shelf or window sill. Since this decoration is simple to make and can be customised in so many different ways, you can use your imagination to match your style.
